FANTASTIC FACIAL A MIAMI MUST!

Ok people here’s the deal, if you live in Miami and are on a mission to defy age as I am, you need to get a monthly facial. The sun here is no joke and if you want to enjoy the beach, pool and boating scene not to mention golf, stand up paddle boarding, fishing and the long list of other outdoor sunshiny activities we can do all year round here in Miami and not look all wrinkly and old then a monthly facial MUST be part of your routine. MEN! This goes for you too. I see so many guys with ruddy damaged skin in this town. Guys are 34 and look 46 because they are getting wrinkly. SPF every day and a Nail Bar and Beauty Lounge Facial will do you guys good too. Getting facials aren’t GAY so cut the crap and get your skin healthy and clean. No one wants to look at blackheads on your nose and no amount of Biore strips and alcohol on a cotton ball is going to help it. So men, ladies of Miami leave it to the pros.

I had the lovely pleasure to experience a facial at Nail Bar and Beauty Lounge in Midtown. A few weeks back I had the best mani-pedi since moving here 2 years ago and I’m a total picky pain in the ass when it comes to mani pedis. I loved it and blogged about it so of course I was totally curious about their other services. Not to mention… any place that welcomes you with a glass of champagne is one I need to revisit over and over again.

I arrived at the super chic location and Erika the multi-tasking beauty guru who is the hardest working woman in the beauty biz greeted me with a hug and the news that she would be administering my facial. Erika also is a make-up artist and fantastic nail tech and she is “Type A,” borderline psycho when it comes to attention to detail. She absolutely loves what she does, and wants to offer her clients the best experience possible.

She introduced me to Image Skincare which works at the cellular level to diminish fine lines, fade sun damage, increase hydration and increase cell turnover so you look vibrant, healthy, youthful and glowing. Image Skincare line has several categories with products to address different skin concerns. My facial included products from the Ageless, Vital C and Daily Defense categories.

First came the cleansing part of the facial… with a Total Facial Cleanser. This is a triple-action glycolic cleanser that removes make-up, impurities and exfoliates dead skin cells and balances pH. If you use this stuff you don’t need a toner. One less step!

Then Lancôme’s Resurface Microdermabrasion. My skin type called for this option instead. This is why I love Nail Bar and Beauty Lounge because they use what is right for your skin and not just the brand they carry.

Next came the Total Resurfacing Masque which also exfoliates, and has glycolic, lactic and salicylic acid to resurface the skin and diminish brown spots. Now I’m a 41 year old woman who still breaks out from time to time. So this stuff pretty much sent a message to any zits brewing beneath to take the party elsewhere.

Then Total Pure Hyaluronic Acid which is infused with apricot essential oil (smells sooo good) and a hardcore dose of vitamin E which plumps skin instantly. It did. No joke. My face looked amazing after this facial and my make-up went on flawlessly well for about 4 days after.

I left Nail Bar and Beauty Lounge there bright and glowing with no make-up on squeaky clean. I had two blemishes on my chin and since I picked them (which I was scolded for) I was given Total Repair Cream to use at night to heal what I did to myself.

The Details:

OK so the facial room at Nail Bar is tiny but it’s quiet and nice. Erika has hands from the heavens and even though she extracted some white and blackheads she more than made up for it with a wonderful neck, shoulder, arm and hand massage. Ahhhhhhh!

DON’T FORGET YOUR HANDS!! Ladies guys know to look at a woman’s hands to tell how old she is. So if you think you can lie about your age sorry. One look at your witch-mitts and your 31 year old man-candy will know you are lying when you say you’re about the same age. Erika hooked me up with Image Skincare’s Total Rejuvenating Hand Cream with SPF 15. She gave me a full on hand massage with this stuff and it left my hands and especially cuticles nice and soft.
