A few weeks ago while at an event at Neiman Marcus at the Village of Merrick Park in Coral Gables, I spotted this petite blonde with a very distinct New York vibe. The New York vibe is what bonds people who are from the New York tri-state area together. It’s something in their stance and gait that just tells you they know of cold weather. They know how to snag a taxi and they know of good pizza. They know how to wear a turtle neck and leggings to the Barney’s New York sale so clothes can be quickly slipped on and off without the need for a fitting room. New York mojo is the unspeakable thing that enables access to hot parties anywhere in the world. It’s the understanding that solutions to any problem can be found at Duane Reade. Jennifer Lamb had this mojo. Evidently I did too, which was why we spotted one another and became instant friends. “Are you from New York?”a simple question that opened the door to friendship.

Jennifer Lamb looks like a younger Kyra Sedgwick, Kevin Bacon’s wife of over 20 years. She’s a little dynamo who knows exactly what she wants out of love and life and won’t settle.  She’s a trailblazer and goes with her gut. After years of working in a very corporate New York setting as an operations manager putting out fires and solving problems for a prominent real estate developer then a hedge fund, Jennifer listened to the divine voice we all have in us. This is the voice that is meant to direct us to our passion and purpose. We can ignore, and shrug it off but it returns. If brave, we push forward heeding the inner call of this voice. We become curious and that curiosity is the fuel that propels us.

JaBella Jewels Hand Made Necklace from Miami

JaBela Jewels offers women hand made pieces that can be worn dressed up or down.

Jennifer Lamb, designer and founder of JaBella Jewels was born in the beautiful Hudson Valley, 60 miles North of New York City; Jennifer’s inspiration has stemmed from Mother Nature’s ever changing beauty.  Always answering her creative spirit, as a child, Jennifer would use found river rocks, shells, sticks, leaves or whatever she could find to help create unique gifts for her loved ones.

I have always read articles and have seen segments on Oprah where they ask people to think back to childhood. Think of the things that captivated us when we were young. That is where our true passions are found. As an adolescent, Jennifer would create unique clothing styles gluing various findings on to her clothing.

Jennifer graduated from The University of Connecticut with a major in Psychology.  She began designing jewelry as a hobby while in college. “I look back and it is amazing. I started to make jewelry and it put me at ease.”

People gravitated towards Jennifer’s warm, gregarious personality and admired her designs so much they would purchase a necklace or bracelet right off her body.  With such a demand, JaBella Jewels was born.

JaBella Jewels features different gemstones that work together to create a specific style and vibe.

I believe a person can only “fake it” for so long eventually their authentic self and true passions will bubble over. Some people listen and take risks to explore this while others don’t. Jennifer took a chance and left her corporate world behind to let her creative passions flow as a jewelry designer.

“The purpose of my designs is to empower the wearer through self expression and inevitably inspire compliments.  The power of a compliment can change ones outlook for a day, a week or for a lifetime.  My designs are dedicated to those who wish to distinguish themselves through personal style and self expression. I did the corporate thing. It served an amazing purpose and taught me so much about business. These are things I will certainly use as I move forward with my jewelry business. I’m a creative person and making jewelry speaks to me on a very deep spiritual level. I just know this is what I am meant to do.”

Miami Beach is now where Jennifer considers home and where she lives her dream as a designer.

“The beach, the colors, the serenity along with the hustle and sensuality of this town really inspires me. My jewelry is very earthy and feminine yet, there’s strength in my designs. My designs have a connection to nature so it makes perfect sense to be in Miami.”

Jennifer strongly embraces the philosophy of giving back. Sales from JaBella Jewels have aided charities such as KidSave International and Casa Valentina; both charities benefiting Foster Children and Orphans, a cause personally close to her heart. Behind each JaBella Jewels creation is a story inspired by Jennifer’s world travels, Mother Nature’s beauty and a drive for self expression.
